Royston, Herts – G3 Systems have received an order from UK Works Group Royal Engineers to provide permanent medical facilities at Kandahar Airfield for UK Forces currently deployed in Afghanistan on Operation Herrick.

The new contract includes two main components – the design and build of a Tier 2 Role 1 medical facility, and the upgrade of an existing Aeromed Staging Unit (ASU). The medical facility will provide 300 square meters of working space, including accommodations and toilet facilities. The upgrade of the ASU will consist of 18 movable and reusable ‘portable’ Type Tier 2 accommodation units on an existing footprint.

The programme, worth $1.5M USD, is expected to be completed in early August 2007. Pete Underhill will serve as the project manager.
