Vice Admiral Peter Dunt opens G3 Systems new facility

G3 Systems Ltd new £2m integration facility was officially opened by the Chief Executive of Defence Estates on Friday 15th December 2006.

Vice Admiral Peter Dunt CB Chief Executive of Defence Estates unveiled a Portland Stone plaque to commemorate the event. The opening of the facility was also attended by G3 Systems Directors, staff and selected guests.

Vice Admiral Dunt was secretary to Admiral Woodward and served as the Group Logistics Officer for the Falklands conflict on board HMS HERMES in 1982. After the unveiling Vice Admiral Dunt commented on G3 Systems worthy reputation within the defence supply chain and their commitment to supporting the on-going requirements of the UK forces. Vice Admiral Dunt continued, ‘The type of equipment and services G3 systems provides are essential to the on going welfare of our troops in the field and around the globe’.

In a speech given by Mike Pond G3 Systems Managing Director commented ‘The move to this modern purpose made building marks G3 Systems rapid growth and their commitment to growing our business from our Portland base’.

G3 Systems new building at Osprey Quay is the integration facility for the company whose head office is in Royston, Hertfordshire. The new 21,000 square feet facility provides modern office space (6276 sq ft) and a large production and workshop facility (14,836 sq ft) a stones throw away from G3 Systems' previous site also within the same estate.

The name ‘Brunel Building’ was selected following an internal vote by G3 Systems staff. An apt name as the building houses G3 Systems Engineering Design team.

The company employs a rapidly expanding workforce of 100 and has been creating jobs for the local economy for over 5 years. G3 Systems also provide work and revenue for the many local sub-contractors it engages in the Portland and Weymouth area.

G3 Systems design and supply deployable systems often housed within containers and tented shelter systems. Facilities include field accommodation, toilets, showers, laundries, offices and kitchen systems. G3 Systems have also provided a number of medical solutions to the UK MoD that include all the things you would see in a city hospital including; CT scanner, X-Ray, Surgery, Intensive Therapy and Intensive Care Wards, Dental, Physiotherapy and Path Lab.

G3 Systems equipments provide the UK Forces with solutions to make life in hostile locations more bearable for those on the ground.

G3 Systems have recently worked with Philips Medical to supply a CT scanner to Iraq which has been used to save numerous lives.
